The Hutch...

So this week was a long one because of school and I really wanted to do something fun this weekend.
I finished all my homework on Friday so that I could spend all saturday on THIS!

When we got married we were FORTUNATE enough to inherit all of my dads ex-ex dental waiting room furniture and it's LOVELY... the sofa is a beautiful baby pink and green plaid partnered up with an impressive oversized wing chair covered in christmas color plaids all tied together with a HUGE round ottoman that is also a lovely pink floral... Now interior design is ONE of my favorite things (since I work in an interior design store and I grew up with one) (mom) it's always been something I love to do! However I've felt doomed and tied down to an ugly house till I get rid of that wretched furniture! Brandon finally promised me a new couch in May when we graduate so I decided i was going to start doing the things to my house that i've been wanting to do even if my furniture was HIDEOUS and NOTHING I do will ever match it! so here goes!!! 

This is the color I chose... Don't worry I was nervous about it too at first...

I MUST say though that the REAL art piece was me... These were my feet after walking around paint splattered newspapers all day.

I THINK some of the paint actually made it to the hutch?.... and yes I stuck my head in one of the shelves after it was painted and got my hair COVERED in blue paint... I'm new at this...

TA DAAA!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! 

I'm so glad I went with a bright color! My house colors are teal, green, mustard and brown so on the knobs i couldn't decided between baby blue or mustard so thats why they are 2 different colors but I think we decided we liked the blue better :) Any opinions on that?...

So here are my words of advice if you ever paint furniture....

1- DO NOT PAINT ON NEWSPAPER!! it sticks to it on the legs of the piece and you have to peel it off and repaint it after it's dry. Paint of cardboard

2- sweep off the area your painting in COMPLETELY if there is ANY sort of wind!

3-When painting shelves start with the top (roof) of it, then the walls, then the actual shelf.... that way you don't have to stick your head into a wet shelf to paint the top ha ha ha

Turning Points in My Life...

Lately I have hit many turning points in my life and I'd like to share some of them with you :)

 1- I used to like sushi a little, I was VERY particular about what was in it, now I CRAVE sushi and I'll eat any roll you put in front of me!!

2- For the first time in my LIFE I rose my hand and answered a question in a math class!! I never know what the answers are and for ONCE I actually did!

3- I decided I FINALLY LIKE BANANAS! I have always hated them but have been trying to eat them lately because they are healthy. I'll buy 3 of them and they'll go bad, so i'll buy 3 more and they'll go bad and today I finally ate one and it was AWESOME!

4- I FINALLY learned how to french braid!! and it only took me 22 years!

6- I've officially become and non texting driver ha ha ha ha I won't lie I TOTALLY was in college and ESPECIALLY in High School but i'm officially NOT now!

7- Last but NOT least! I've decided to get my masters degree! ... Well at least REALLY REALLY try to get one. This is something I've been thinking about for a while and lately so many things have just fallen into place and I just feel like I need to do this while I still can! Going all depends on where Brandon gets accepted to Med School. If we get our top choice (Arizona) then I'm for SURE going because ASU has an AWESOME program and I have ins there :) A lot of his other choices have Photo Masters programs around them as well but we'll have to see where the road takes us. My inspirations lately have been, Edward Burtnysky, Mark Klett, Amy Mann and more.

One Year, One Month and a Few Days Later....

WE FINALLY GET OUR WEDDING PHOTOS!!!! Get ready because I'm gonna post a TON! I have been waiting and WAITING for these to come and I finally got them! It was fun to not see them till a year later though :) reminded me how much a LOVE my hubby!

MY FRIENDS TO THE RESCUE! Everyone in the wedding party started jumping in the pool!!!!! It was so awesome! I wanted to so bad (because PLEASE like i'm gonna ever wear my dress again?) but My mom gave me an "evil eye threat" ha ha ha 

EVEN MY SISTER NATALIE JUMPED IN THE POOL!!! If you know natalie you know that this is SO unlike her!!! I couldn't BELIEVE MY EYES when she got up on the diving board!!!

all in all, best week ever! and now I kinda wanna get married again ha ha ha

Husband & Wife!

Brandons little brother Cary married to his sweetheart Kaili this week in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple! I am so happy for those 2! I'm mostly glad that Cary married a girl who I was already good friends with so it wasn't a hard adjustment for me and the other Valantine girls. The ceremony was so good (and funny) every couple does something funny and awkward during the ceremony and it's always my favorite part :) After the luncheon they left for their Park City honeymoon and are now back at home which happens to be half a block away from Brandon and I!!  I'm so excited to have close friends again! Our other best friends abandoned us for Law School this month so we've been pretty lonely (just kidding tyler & Laura we miss you lots though). So now we have sunday dinner and social friends again! I couldn't be more thrilled!! 

I LOVE this boy! I get SO MANY pictures of him like this because I always say "go stand there so I can test my light" and he does every time! Most the time I get a stuck out tongue for these pics but today i got lucky and got a smile

California is for LOVERS

We went on our annual Anderson, Bennion, Fonda, Harris California Trip last week! It was SWEET! We went for 7 days and hit up the beach everyday!! (which is good but bad cause now my face is peeling just in time for Brandons brothers wedding this weekend...) Our first day there we hit up Disney Land! I LOVE DISNEY LAND!! I was probably more excited than any 4year old there!

We actually got to meet Micky this year! I've never met him before!!!

I somehow got talked into going on this ride? I HATE this ride! I don't think it's fun at all!? I SCREAMED the ENTIRE ride and didn't open my eyes once!

{California Adventure has a show now! (like Fantasmic) It's called World of Color! It was SO COOL! You have to get fast pass tickets to sit on the front side of it (we didn't know that) so we sat on the backside of it but it was still SO AWESOME! They play all the different classic Disney songs and shoot colorful fountains and projections and lasers to the music!

LOVED IT!

DODGER VS. PADRES GAME!

I still wore my Boston Red Sox hat to the game and surprisingly people would applaud or tell me how awesome my hat was! I thought I would get beat up!? 

Padres won! It was SUCH a SWEET game! all 23 of us went to it so it was so fun to dance around and be crazy when they scored!

Loved the trip! we missed Nat & Joe though :(

Too fit to quit!

Brandon and I have started P90x! We got digital copies of it from my sister and brother in law and we started this week... I CANNOT move! I have NEVER been SO SORE IN MY LIFE! (and I played sports in high school!) We started out with Plyometrics and that destroyed me! I'm walking like I'm 8 months pregnant! The guys I work with have been making fun of me all day! I can't WAIT for the yoga day! I'm mostly proud of how determined Brandon has been about it! He wakes me up every morning at 7 (some-day's that's a suicide mission) and gets me motivated to do it. I wish I could say that it's making me feel awesome because right now it just makes me hurt more than anything ha ha ha, but I'm sure that will change! Wish us luck! (we're taking before and after shots so stay tuned for those in 88 more days... well...  if we did good enough we'll post them) 

also, I HAVE STARTED STUDYING YOGA! I love it! I started going to classes like 6 months ago and now I do it every morning after p90x or at night when I get home from work! It's SUCH a nice break! Yoga is meant for relaxation, meditation, strengthening the muscles you never use and correcting posture (which are ALL good things for me). I have yoga on my wii fit but I'm at the "instructor" level so i'm looking for a new wii yoga game thats a little more challenging. I love going to the classes at Golds Gym but we froze our accounts for 90 days so I can't go to them now :( but now that forces me to really study it on my own and create my own routines and work outs. LOVE IT! you all should try it!
