The Valantines on Valentines

Brandon was ACTUALLY born ON Valentines day (& his parents aniversary is that day as well) so this is a big day in the Valantine home.

This year we decided that we had earned a break with how hard he'd been working in school and how much i'd been working so we treated ourselves to a weekend in Vegas! WOOT WOOT! We were planning on leaving right after i got off work Friday!!
when i got to work that day I had flowers on my desk and a note that said
"enjoy work today because the rest of the weekend your mine! -love your Valantine"
(aka i'm not bringing ANY homework to vegas lol)
We stayed at this new hotel on the south end of the strip called "South Point"
This is our AWESOME ROOM!... well at least the part that could fit in the frame :)
and this is our lovely view... (we're married AND in college give us a break)

Knowing Brandon and I of course the first thing we did was hit the pool! It was SOOOOO warm down there and it felt amazing to just cook in the sun again!!

This is our pool! NICE HUH?! There is more to the right and a GIGANTIC hot tub too! We loved the hotel we stayed at! We got it for a steal!

After the pool we hit the strip!

We went through the MGM and saw the LIONS!!! They were HUGE! They walked them around the habitat and threw meat on the glass so they'd come up and lick the glass right in front of you and you could see all there big teeth!
We bumped into our 2 favorite cousins on the strip! It was fun to see them there!

We went and watched the Billagio fountins which is my ALL TIME favorite thing in vegas!

After we walked around for a few hours and went to some shows on the strip we went and got some AMAZING Indian Food at a place called Ghandi! YUM!

Brandon had a dish on his plate that tasted SO GOOD
but it looked SO MUCH like poop we couldn't stomach it ha ha ha
(this pic does it NO justice)
We slept in till 11 a.m the next morning and had Valantines Day breakfast at good old Ihop! There was a HUGE wait believe it or not so we took a pic.

.................................................

and of COURSE the trip wouldn't be complete with out me getting pulled over at LEAST once but all-in-all it was a REALLY REALLY fun weekend!
We had a lot of fun spending so much time together and now can't stop thinking about our next chance to find some sun but untill then it's back to the grinding wheel. :)

Valentines Day Dance

So for my Calling as ward photographer I get lots of fun opportunitites for photography! This week was the Valentines Day Dance. I was hired for 2 hours to take photo's of all the couples who came. (they all pretty much looked like this one.) It was so fun to see all these cute love birds come through in their matched outfits. some you'd NEVER guess were married, some where shy and others were outgoing and fun. But all-in-all everyone was so happy to have a Valentine beside them. lucky for me i ALWAYS have a valantine beside me! Brandon is always SUCH a good assistant! He helped make the babies look at the camera and fixed the backdrop constantly. We did get to squeeze in one dance before we left for brandons game, WHICH he won with 7 seconds left in the game after being down the entire time! what a great way to kick of Valentines Day weekend!

My Birthday

Well my birthday was a month ago but I haven't gotten around to blogging it yet.
My birthday this year was really different. We didn't have school on my birthday so we were plannin on takin off to St. George for some warm weather and shopping but Brandons Grandpa George passed away and his funeral was set for my birthday :(

The night of the viewing brandons family sang me happy birthday and Jody made my FAVOTIRE cake! The funeral the next day was really good. Matt sang "danny boy" and moved everyone to tears. The Valantines went up to richfield to the burial and I got dropped off at work in cedar city.

When they came back they took me to our favorite mexican place for my birthday dinner and it was a good end to a sad day.
.....................................

My parents and brothers came down that weekend though to help us move!

(thats when the real fun started!) We moved all day friday and then I had to go to work... while sitting at work my whole family came in singing happy birthday with a cake and presents and everything! Needless to say work went by very fast that night....

(disclaimer: i look awful in this picture)

we moved in pretty much one day so we went to st. george! we ate at mine and brandons FAVORITE thai and sushi place and MADE my mom, dad and brothers have some REAL sushi! SOOO GOOD!

(i'm not sure how much mom liked it though...)

So it was a bit of an "off" birthday but it turned out great. OH AND brandons family all went in and got me an IPOD TOUCH! I am one spoiled daughter in law! I have the 2 best families ANYONE could ever ask for! I don't know how I got so lucky?
