Moving on!

Exciting news!

We've officially started the move!

We've obviously only begun and have a long way to go but I'm getting excited to get out of here!
We're gonna miss our Cedar City friends a lot and that will be the hardest part of leaving :(
but we're excited for our next phase of life
I can't believe after tomorrow I will never be a "student" again in my life!
What am I supposed to do all day if i'm not working on art projects or typing papers?...
It'll be an adventure thats for sure and we Valantines are always up for a new adventure!

Also in the good news department!
If you guys follow my boring blog you all know I've been struggling in my search for the perfect diaper bag!
Well today I decided that I couldn't find one with a pattern that I wouldn't get sick of so I was just going to go ahead and get a solid yellow one (so far this babies theme color is yellow). So I went online to order it and while searching for it I stumbled across this beauty!
!LOVE!
Loved the colors! loved the pattern! loved the buckle! loved the stuff it came with!
however at $85 I didn't love the price...
I'm proud to announce that after an hour and a half of online shopping and coupon digging I got the price down to $53 and am now the proud owner of my very first diaper bag!!
YES!
What a RELIEF!
I'm slowly chipping away at the "new baby must haves" list

Diaper Bag- CHECK!
Crib- CHECK!
0-6 Months hand me downs clothes- CHECK! (thanks cortney!!)
Cute knit booties- CHECK!
Everything else i'll need to welcome a baby in 8 weeks- ... well I've got 8 weeks and hopefully some baby showers to help me figure all that out...

30 weeks and life updates

I can't believe i'm already at 30 weeks! Time is FLYING by!
Here is the baby update
- Still not sick but my good friend Heart Burn is back :)
- Back pain is still going to be the death of me!
-She's getting really heavy REALLY fast now. I can tell my stomach is much heavier than last week and it's getting harder and harder to sleep
-I got my blood work back and my Anemia is back in full swing so I'm now being forced to double my iron pills and up the Iron in my diet.
-I live in the bath tub
- My face is starting to get super chubby :(
- My ceramics teacher told me that she thinks my baby is going to be at least 9 lbs and that my clothes don't fit me at all anymore ha ha ha thanks susan... (she's a little blunt but I love her)
- When I'm laying in bed and start to readjust my pillows I have to take a half time break to catch my breath.
- I have a wardrobe crisis 5 out of 7 days of the week.
-If I lay my arm across my stomach she will retaliate and kick back at my arm. Same with my thumb, if I push my thumb into my stomach she'll try to kick my thumb away.
-I think the only thing that my classmates have learned about me this semester is that i'm pregnant. Also, if I get one more person tell me that i'm pregnant like I don't already know I'm gonna have to stop the courtesy laugh and resort to unfriendly returned sarcasm lol
-Still no official name yet. She is still just "baby"

Now for an update on the Valantines

-We are DONE with our undergrad degrees in 2 weeks!!
- We are moving out of our apartment on the 30th and then moving into our new apartment in St. George the second week of May (don't ask WHAT we're doing during those 2 weeks where we don't have a house... It's a sensitive subject lol)
-My finals are pretty much done and Brandon is just getting into the busiest part of his finals which has resulted in Charley and I eating an entire box of otter pops and watching everything that Netflix Instant Queue has to offer.
- My mamma is coming next Tuesday to help me clean, pack and move! We are also planning on getting some sewing done for babies room! I can HARDLY wait!
- Brandon and I decided not to get internet in our new house and instead get smart phones with a wireless hotspot! After months (and I mean MONTHS) of researching phones Brandon finally settled on the HTC Thunderbolt. I usually get the $30 phones because I've never made it the whole 2 years with out breaking, losing, or drowning my phone but I think I can make it this time!

I pride myself on being fairly technically savvy but I CANNOT figure out this flippin' phone!! It'll be sitting on the table and beep at me and I CAN'T figure out what it's trying to tell me! Brandon asked me the other night why I never reply to his texts and I said "because I  don't know where they are in there!!". It's linked to my google, facebook, blog, calendar, text and all other social networks and it beeps at me all day! I can't escape notifications anymore! Don't get me wrong, it's a SWEET phone and I'm loving having it but there is DEFIANTLY a learning curve that comes with it that I was not expecting!
- I think Charley can already tell a big change is coming in a few months because she's already starting to "act out". I've read in books that dogs feel competitive for attention after and even before the baby comes and I was curious to see how charley would be because she LOVES babies! When we have babies over at our house she MUST be sitting by them the ENTIRE time and gets mad at people who seem to be "bugging" the baby in anyway. She gets all whiney and panic stricken when babies start crying and won't stop till the baby is taken care of! We haven't kenneled her in over a year because she never gets into trouble while we're gone but she's been SO BAD the last month! Every time we've come home she's gotten into the trash or gotten up on the dining room table and chewed things up!! So it's back to kennel training till she can learn to behave again. Sorry Charley...

Anyways- thats all I can think of as far as updates go for us? I'll think of more in the next 20 minutes i'm sure but for now thats all :) Thanks for reading!

booties!

I used to work at  this little consignment shop in town.
We sold all kinds of cute handmade baby accessories:
 ties
wipe covers
bibs
and flower headbands galore
but by far the cutest things we had were these hand knit little booties that a woman here in town makes! The other night I went to the grand opening of a new boutique with a girl friend of mine and I bumped into my old boss who started asking me all about the baby and then asked if I remembered those booties!
then she told me that the lady had started making SANDALS for little girls!
She said since I was moving to St. George I absolutely HAD to come look at them!
So today I went in to see them and I was in LOVE!!!
She had hidden the cutest pair in the store so that no one would get them before me ha ha ha
I can't get enough of these little shoes!
I almost wanna put them in her room as a decoration instead of on her feet!

1st Ultrasound!

So I don't know if you all remember my blog post about our ultrasound we got a while ago? (if not go here). Long story short, we couldn't get a legit one done for a while so my Dr. looked on her old school machine and said she was about 85% sure it was a girl. So today we went and finally got a REAL ultrasound done! Which is FABULOUS because I have been making myself crazy with worry..
"oh my heck what if she doesn't have a brain!?"
"What if she doesn't have all of her toes and we needed to know that 4 weeks ago!"
"What if her lungs aren't coming in right! like what if the right is on the left and the left is on the right!!?"
"WHAT IF IT'S NOT EVEN A GIRL ANYMORE!!"
It isn't helping either that Brandon is taking embryology (the study of the development of the embryo) this semester and he comes home everyday with a new birth defect that he's worried about. I'm taking a painting class this semester and he's REALLY not excited about me being in there with all those "fumes".
Example:
Today we weren't sitting in the hospital waiting for our ultrasound and he said
"oh my heck! sweetie you've got paint on your NOSE!! like right next to your NOSE!!"
so I laughed, licked my finger and said "where?",
he showed me and I wiped at it,
then he said "one more lick and wipe and you got it"
so I liked my finger again and he yelled
"NOT WITH THE SAME FINGER!!! NOW YOUR EATING THE PAINT YOU RETARD!"
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
I started laughing so hard!!
He called me a retard!! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
He's gonna be such a good daddy, i'm excited :)

So finally today we both got put at ease and i'm HAPPY to announce that we are STILL having a
VERY healthy
BABY GIRL!
That little bubble on her nose is the umbilical cord (not to be confused with the ambilical cord...)
and the other 2 bubbles are her hands up in little fists
ISN'T SHE CUTE!!!!!???
she's sucking on the back of her hands and her feet are all smooshed up too!!
However, she does have a little bit of a Polynesian nose that we're still trying to figure out?...
-As for the ever popular baby name topic we still are at a loss.
We've both found a name that we love and we are fighting to the death
(or I guess the birth)
about which one we'll actually name her.
I guess we'll just have to see what she looks like when she gets here.
-What i'm loving right now is how big of a leap the last 2 weeks have been?
2 weeks ago my conversations would go like this-
random person: how far along are you!?
Me: 26 weeks! Due June 24th!
random person: oh you've still got a little ways to go then! and this is the beginning of the worst of it!
Me: yeah... thanks for the pick me up....

but now the conversation goes like this

random person: how far along are you!?
Me: 28 weeks! Due June 24th!
random person: oh wow! thats comin' right up! Are you gettin' excited!?"

why is it that 2 weeks ago I was rounding 2nd and now all of a sudden i'm sliding into home?!
Make up your mind people!!

...On a lighter note...
Didn't we all LOVE General Conference this weekend!?! I loved it!
Richard G. Scotts talk about loving your wife was SO cute!
and aren't we all SO GRATEFUL it's fruit season again!?
I'm sitting at my desk eating a big bowl of fresh, ripe strawberries and i'm in heaven!

28 Weeks

Ryan wanted to help me out with my 28 week photo ha ha ha
as you know Ryan left on his mission Wed. so we got one last pic together. Ryan will be leaving the MTC for the mission field about the time that the baby is born so I suggested to my mom that we take Ryans new niece and "accidentally" bump into him at the airport before he flies off to Cambodia :)
we'll see how it goes.
